Successes
Trust for Nature has already protected more than 80,000 hectares of Victorian bush.
In the past 35 years, Trust for Nature's unique role has helped protect iconic Australian species such as the Red-tailed Black-cockatoo, the Helmeted Honey-eater and the Spotted-tailed Quoll.
Trust for Nature has also given 63 donated or purchased properties back to Australians for use as public reserves and parks.
Trust for Nature actively manages 50 properties including Victoria's largest freehold property - Ned's Corner Station, on the Murray River, near Mildura.
Trust for Nature is also expanding into innovative conservation by creating positive solutions to Australia's water crisis and climate change.
With most of Trust for Nature's staff based in regional Victoria, the organisation will continue a strong tradition of finding on-the-ground solutions to conserve and improve private bushland.
A National Leader
Other states have recognised Trust for Nature's role in developing innovative market-based conservation programs by adapting many of the initiatives.
These include programs such as a Revolving Fund, Conservation Covenants, tax incentive schemes for landholders and stewardship programs.
Trust for Nature retains valued partnerships with local, state and federal governments to carry out its important conservation work.
