Bush Family Reserve

Trust for Nature purchased this 255 hectare property at Meerlieu, near Stratford, in 1999 with the assistance of the Natural Heritage Trust's National Reserve System program and The RE Ross Trust.
The property contains an excellent example of threatened Plains Grassy Woodland, of which less than three per cent of its original coverage remains in this region.
It also contains populations of the nationally-endangered Dwarf Kerrawang, a small wetland plant, and the state-threatened Slender-tick Trefoil. With the presence of many hollows, the property is a haven for possums, bats, various birds, kangaroos and wallabies.
It is managed by the Meerlieu Reserves Committee of Management with the support of Trust for Nature. The committee undertakes regular working bees and nature walks.

Frair's Reserve

Trust for Nature acquired this 192.9 hectare property at Meerlieu, about 40 kilometres west of Bairnsdale, in 2000 with the assistance of the the Natural Heritage Trust's National Reserve System program and The RE Ross Trust.
The property features Gippsland Plains Grassy Woodland which is classified as endangered under the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act 1988. The woodland is dominated by Gippsland Red Gum, a vegetation type that has been almost entirely cleared within the region.
Various plant surveys over the past few years have identified 94 native species with emus, kangaroos and wallabies present in the area while bandicoots, antechinus, bush rats and various possums are also likely to be present.
The reserve is managed by the Meerlieu Reserves Committee of Management with the support of Trust for Nature. The committee undertakes regular working bees and nature walks.

Stratford Woodland Reserve

Trust for Nature purchased this 10 hectare property in 2005 with support from the Australian Plant Society and philanthropist Flora McDonald.
Large old Gippsland Red Gums, a diversity of wild flowers and the threatened Purple Diuris Orchid make this a high quality site which is rare to find on the Gippsland Plains.

Hainsworth and Maramingo Creek

Trust for Nature had this 36 hectare property, in Victoria's east near Genoa, donated to the organisation to protect the site's conservation values.
It is a significant area of natural vegetation adjoining a Flora and Fauna Reserve. It consists mainly of swampy flats between Maramingo Creek and Sandy Waterholes Creek. The area contains significant portion of the Maramingo Swamp.
