Trust for Nature offers permit holders that have a requirement to complete a native vegetation offset an effective service to broker an agreement with a landowner and meet this regulatory requirement.
Trust for Nature supports an extensive pool of landowners protecting and maintaining native vegetation, through which an appropriate property to meet an offset obligation can be identified. We facilitate offset agreements with landowners through a standard set of documents recognised by regulators as meeting offset obligations.
Once contacted, Trust for Nature can:
1. Seek a property that meets your planning requirement
2. Support negotiations to achieve an agreed price with a landowner(s)
3. Facilitate regulatory documents to establish and trade the offset credit
4. Manage the long-term offset obligations with the landowner
As part of the offset agreement, you will be required to fund the cost of the offset obligations on the landowner’s property. This payment is made as a lump sum to Trust for Nature who will distribute the funds to the landowner over the 10 year agreement. Once the lump sum payment has been made, the proponent typically has no further obligations to implement the offset, unless specifically identified in the planning approval.
For more information on the offset program please contact us at email@example.com or on (03) 8631 5888.
